WASHINGTON, Oct. 6, 2015 - Just as U.S. trade negotiators celebrate the completion of one major trade agreement across the Pacific Ocean, talks are scheduled to continue with trading partners across the Atlantic.

Together we can feed the Bees"

The office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announced today that the 11th round of negotiations on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (T-TIP) will take place Oct. 19-23 in Miami. The talks will involve negotiators from the U.S. and the European Union as the two sides work to complete a deal.

President Barack Obama announced intentions to negotiate a trade agreement with the EU during his 2013 State of the Union address. Agricultural stakeholders have been keeping a watchful eye on the talks, which began in July 2013, to see how the agreement addresses issues like biotechnology in crops and the use of feed additives like ractopamine in pork production.

On Monday, trade negotiators announced an agreement on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which brings together 12 Pacific Rim countries.
