Washington, July 6 - The International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA) released its Fertilizer Outlook 2010-2014. Following a gloomy year in 2009, fertilizer demand is forecast to rebound 4.8 percent this year and grow at sustained rates in the next four years.

On the supply side, the report said fertilizer production capacity is slower than anticipated due to project delays, but a faster increase in capacity shows a potential surplus of nitrogen and potassium in the long-term.

A wave of mergers and acquisitions that characterized the restructuring of the global fertilizer sector over the past 12 months is expected to continue in the near term, the IFA added.
