Our guest this week on Open Mic is Chuck Conner, president and CEO of the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives (NCFC). Interviewed prior to the first DOJ-USDA ag competition workshop in Iowa, Conner talks about the role of farmer-owned coops in today's agricultural marketplace and why they're still deserving of limited immunity from antitrust laws. The former USDA Deputy Secretary also discusses agriculture's "early victories" on Capitol Hill on climate legislation, and he offers some thoughts on the coming Farm Bill debate and the Obama USDA.
