WASHINGTON, March 14, 3014 – U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman said he was “generally pleased” with the progress U.S. and European negotiators made this week during the fourth round of Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (T-IPP) talks in Brussels.

“We know we have a lot of work ahead of us,” Froman said after the talks adjourned today, “but we have a good understanding of the key issues that need to be resolved.”

He also said President Obama is looking forward to discussing the T-TIP with European Council President Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso during their summit in Brussels on March 26.

The T-TIP talks are aimed at forging a free-trade agreement with the 28 member states of the European Union.
