Legendary musician Bob Dylan is the latest celebrity to license his name and persona to a brand of alcohol, in Dylan’s case a line of craft American whiskeys under the name Heaven’s Door. Heaven’s Door’s first releases include a Tennessee straight bourbon whiskey, which has been aged for six-and-a-half years; a double barrel whiskey; and a straight rye whiskey. The premium spirits are made in collaboration with a number of master distillers and blenders from across the U.S., and the singer’s artworks adorn the bottles. For now, the whiskeys are available in six states – Tennessee, Texas, California, Florida, New York and Illinois – at prices ranging from around $50 to $80. The company says on its website that it plans to open a distillery and “brand experience center” in a 140-year-old church in Nashville in 2019. Other celebrities with their own alcohol brands include Justin Timberlake, Drew Barrymore, Dan Aykroyd and George Clooney. Dylan released “Knockin' on Heaven’s Door” in 1973.
