Farms and other entities throughout the food supply chain are urging Gov. Gavin Newsom to address the economic impacts of implementing the administration’s many clean energy and ZEV goals.
 
The companies and trade groups are “increasingly concerned with unresolved economic feasibility, technological challenges, and lack of essential infrastructure required to make them a reality by 2035,” according to a letter to the governor.

The 166 organizations in the coalition contend that without more financial support and regulatory flexibility, the aggressive deadlines are unrealistic. They fear farmers and truckers will not have access to affordable equipment, ships will be barred from ports and longshoremen will lose jobs.
 
 “The clock is ticking on the entire supply chain,” they warned.
