The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture, the Almond Board of California and the California Department of Food and Agriculture will be hosting a high-level trade delegation from Morocco June 22-28.
This inbound trade mission, organized in partnership with USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service in Rabat, comes on the heels of a trade mission to Morocco in January 2024, where an “interest in strengthening business ties to the U.S. was repeatedly expressed," according to NASDA.
This trade mission is designed to allow American farms and businesses the opportunity to show the “quality and accessibility” of U.S. products to the Moroccan delegation. The program will include meetings with agricultural leaders from California, Kansas, New Mexico and the Western U.S. Agricultural Trade Association.

The Moroccan delegation will represent a variety of sectors and interests and will include the director of the food products department at the Moroccan National Office for Food Safety and CEOs and general managers from Stellar International Enterprises LLC, AMA Holding, Moulins Atlantic (LGA) and Mundiriz. The president of COMADER, Morocco's equivalent of the American Farm Bureau, will also be joining the trade mission.
During the weeklong trade mission, the group will attend the Salinas Biological Summit, meet with representatives of the Almond Board of California and UC Davis, and tour the Port of Oakland. Key discussion topics will include biotechnology, food safety, drought mitigation, and research and innovation in tree nut production, according to NASDA. California Secretary of Agriculture Karen Ross will also address the group.
