Land O’Lakes Inc. and Microsoft Corp. are joining forces to develop AI-powered tools for agriculture, including a digital assistant called Oz.
Built on Microsoft’s Azure AI Foundry and using Land O’Lakes’ agricultural data, Oz helps farmers make data-driven decisions to optimize operations, improve yields and manage risks.

The announced multiyear strategic alliance builds on five years of collaboration and is part of Land O’Lakes’ broader digital transformation, which includes migrating two-thirds of its IT environment to Microsoft Azure and piloting Microsoft Copilot licenses.
Oz is currently being tested with retail agronomists with plans to expand access next year. The AI assistant utilizes Land O’Lakes’ Crop Protection Guide, an 800-page resource built on 20 years of data.
“The goal of our alliance is to deliver data-driven recommendations and solutions that lead to the best outcomes for farmers, who keep food on all of our tables,” said Teddy Bekele, senior vice president and chief technology officer at Land O’Lakes.
Land O’Lakes and Microsoft plan to continue rolling out AI-powered solutions, including tools for soil management and dairy production optimization.
