WASHINGTON, May 15, 2013- As the House Agriculture Committee gets ready to being mark-up of the 2013 Farm Bill, several of the more than 90 amendments are expected to be included in a manager’s amendment, Agri-Pulse has learned.

House Agriculture Committee Chairman Frank Lucas, R-Okla, and Ranking Member Collin Peterson, D-Minn., will offer an en bloc amendment to the draft farm bill, HR 1947, that will include 28 individual amendments.

Commodity Title amendments include:

Rep. Bob Gibbs, R- Ohio, Prohibits USDA from releasing personal private info

Rep. Gibbs, Requires annual report of the effects of PLC and RLC program

Conservation Title provisions include:

Rep. John Garamendi, D-Calif., Enable NRCS to make payments for the duration of EQIP contracts for wildlife habitat management

Nutrition Title provisions include:

Rep. Gloria Negrete McLeod, D-Calif., To clarify direct-to-consumer markets

Rep. Reid Ribble, R-Wisc., Requiring Secretary of Agriculture to conduct review of benefits of white potatoes

Rep., Austin Scott, R-Ga., EBT transfer transaction routing system

Rep. Dan Benishek, R-Mich., Pilot state run EBT retailer fraud investigation program
