WASHINGTON, Nov. 22, 2016 – Rep. Collin Peterson, the ranking member on the House Agriculture Committee, today announced two additions to the panel’s minority staff for the 115th Congress: Troy Phillips will be deputy staff director and Kellie Adesina will be senior counsel.

"Troy and Kellie both bring valuable work experience and deep policy expertise to the committee," the Minnesota Democrat said in a release. "They will serve important roles as the committee continues to address the wide range of issues under our jurisdiction and begins work on a new farm bill in the next Congress."

Phillips has been an aide to California Rep. Sam Farr since 1997, focusing on agriculture and natural resource issues. Most recently he served as appropriations associate for Farr in his role as ranking member on the Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee. He previously was a legislative director for Missouri Rep. Harold Volkmer. Phillips grew up Macon, Missouri, where his family had a grass-fed cow-calf operation and raised soybeans.
