NEBRASKA, July 19, 2017 - The University of Nebraska recently held a four-day safety boot camp geared toward biofuel plant personnel. Experts from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers trained bioprocessing industrial plant personnel on related safety matters. The Process Safety Boot Camp was intended to go beyond personal worker safety and prevent incidents that have the potential to injure or kill workers and neighboring residents, such as catastrophic fires, explosions, and toxic releases. The course covered key process safety areas including risk based process safety, process hazard analysis, regulatory compliance, and process safety in plant operations.
