Farm Hands on the Potomac: NOPA hires McCray, Peña joins NAWG, Schiff names ag staff

The National Oilseed Processors Association hired Corey McCray as vice president of government affairs. Tucker Stewart, general counsel and a top agriculture aide to Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., departed from the office. Mary Galey joined the Department of Agriculture as scheduling director. 

The National Association of Wheat Growers hired Anthony Peña as policy manager. Former Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., hired Morgan Orem as a legislative assistant.

Daybreak March 11: USDA to hold bird flu call with industry, state officials

USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service officials will be discussing the bird flu outbreak with state officials and industry stakeholders today. The call comes after Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins told Breitbart.com that vaccines were “off the table,” leading to questions about whether vaccination would still be part of the administration’s bird flu strategy.
