Farm Hands on the Potomac: Fennig to lead Pet Food Institute, DeVuyst elected Cattlemen's Beef Board chair, Reed named National Cotton Council chairman

Elise Fennig was named president and CEO of the Pet Food Institute. She will succeed Dana Brooks, who held the position since 2018. Most recently, Fennig served as chief of staff and as senior vice president of industry engagement at the National Confectioners Association. Earlier, she held leadership roles at the Consumer Brands Association, American Frozen Food Institute, and The Kraft Heinz Co. Fennig assumes her new role March 16.

Farm Hands on the Potomac: Hollay to lead NCAE, Newton returns to AFBF, Dickson named partner at DTB AgriTrade

Veteran agricultural economist John Newton is returning to the American Farm Bureau Federation to oversee the government relations advocacy staff and team of economists. John Hollay was named the next president and chief executive officer of the National Council of Agricultural Employers. Dana Brooks, president and CEO of the Pet Food Institute for the past seven years, will step down in April. Trade consulting firm DTB AgriTrade hired Krista Dickson as a partner. Lindy Froebel was promoted to vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs at the National Turkey Federation.

FDA veteran named CVM director

Tracey Forfa, a 30-year veteran of the Food and Drug Administration, will become the new director of FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine. She has been CVM’s acting director since December, when previous director Steven Solomon retired.
