Accusations have surfaced that employees of the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) accepted bribes to more quickly restore some customers’ power after Hurricane Maria ravaged the island. The utility’s interim executive director, Justo González, told NotiUno 630 that the alleged bribery scheme is being investigated and that there are allegations of bribery in several municipalities. Half of Puerto Rico has been without power for more than 80 days following the hurricane.
