Annie Deckey, a student at Claremont McKenna College with a background and interest in agribusiness and farm policy, is the newest member of the Agri-Pulse team.

Deckey, a native of Yuma, Ariz., joined Agri-Pulse Monday and will focus on contributing to the company's award-winning coverage of ag and food policy issues in Washington and across the country.

“Annie brings a wealth of curiosity and talent to our team,” said Sara Wyant, Agri-Pulse founder and president. “Her experience and knowledge of western agriculture issues and passion for learning more about all the things we cover will be a valuable resource as she produces stories that will be important to our readers.”

Deckey’s previous experience includes an internship with Paper Magazine in New York as well as time working as a marketing management intern for the Gowan Company in Yuma, Ariz. She has also worked at The Salvatori Center and The Center for Writing and Public Discourse in Claremont, Calif.

"I was raised around agriculture. So, naturally, I am extremely excited to intern for Agri-Pulse,” Deckey said. “It is an amazing opportunity to report on the policy shaping agricultural issues while also gaining insight from Agri-Pulse's editors and reporters. I am lucky to join the team."
