Farmers Business Network, a digital e-commerce marketplace platform, has announced the launch of a new independent crop protection company, Global Crop Solutions.

The spinoff crop protection subsidiary comes as the company says it wants to grow and better serve customers in both markets. FBN will seek to better serve family farms with a digital shopping platform, while GCS aims to become an independent supplier of crop protection products to retailers, cooperatives and distributors.

Deemed an “independent powerhouse” by GCS CEO Amy Yoder, the new company claims to hold one of the industry’s largest portfolios of post-patent crop protection products. GCS currently has over 250 registrations in the U.S. and Canada.

“Our independence unlocks immense growth potential and allows us to be the most reliable and collaborative partner to the entire agricultural industry,” Yoder said.

The two companies will continue a strategic commercial relationship, with GCS remaining a seller on the FBN marketplace.
