Bayer revises loyalty program requirements following DOJ scrutiny

Major seed company Bayer is no longer requiring independent seed companies seeking discounts through its loyalty program to meet sales targets, the Justice Department announced Wednesday.

Members of the groups spent last week in Washington reporting the positive impact the EPA's higher RVO numbers are already having in their industry. Later in the week, USDA finalized the Regenerative Feedstocks rule and provided an updated version of the USDA Feedstock Carbon Intensity Calculator. Rehagen says the industry is poised for growth and hopes future RVO guidance can provide room for continued expansion of the renewable fuels sector.

Plus, Tara Smith with Torrey Advisory Group and Anne MacMillan with Invariant discuss the broader farm bill politics at play during the midterm election year and the White House's supplemental spending request to address the cost of the war in Iran, which includes $11.1 billion in additional farm aid and support for year-round sales of E15.
