WASHINGTON - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Thursday reported 132 million gallons of biodiesel production for the month of July and year-to-date volume of more than 768 million gallons.

The latest production volumes under the Biomass-based Diesel category of the Renewable Fuels Standard show a total of more than 166 million gallons of Biomass-based Diesel in July. That total also includes production of renewable diesel, so the biodiesel portion of the total is 132 million gallons.

Biodiesel is the first EPA-designated Advanced Biofuel to reach one billion gallons of annual production, noted the announcement from the National Biodiesel Board. The industry surpassed RFS targets for two consecutive years and is on pace to do so again this year, the board added.
