As concerns over COVID-19 remain steady and economic conditions worsen for many, fresh produce sales are still strong compared to the prior year. But the growth compared to prior weeks started to slow.
Plant-based foods are enjoying significant sales increases during the COVID-19 pandemic, the association that represents the companies that make them said Tuesday.
Following a stellar last week of April, fresh produce sales remained highly elevated during the first week of May. That’s according to an analysis by 210 Analytics, IRI and the Produce Marketing Association.
Consumer demand for fresh meat, pork and poultry sales is soaring, but as processing remains slowed or shuttered in many places across the U.S., you can expect shortages in some retail outlets as well as many grocery chains.
