A new project aims to convert ethanol into 250 million gallons of sustainable aviation fuel annually, potentially offering a new way for the airline industry to meet decarbonization goals and creating a new market for existing corn ethanol.
The Iowa Senate has killed a House-passed bill written to block carbon capture pipelines by deciding not to consider it before today’s legislative deadline.
Interest, but also concern, is rising over three pipelines planned for the Midwest to capture carbon from ethanol plants and sequester it, which advocates for the projects say is a crucial step for meeting climate change goals.
