Corteva Agriscience, the agriculture division of DowDuPont, and MS Technologies have announced that they will launch Enlist E3 soybeans commercially in the U.S. and Canada this year, following import approval last week from the Philippines. That step was critical because the Philippines was the biggest purchaser of soybean meal from the United States last year. Enlist soybeans are the only soybeans on the market tolerant to the new 2,4-D choline in Enlist Duo and Enlist One herbicides, as well as glyphosate and glufosinate herbicides. They will be available in commercial quantities across all Corteva Agriscience brands in 2020, including Pioneer, Stine Seed Company and Merschman Seed Company. “Corteva Agriscience and MS Technologies also plan to broadly license Enlist E3 soybean technology,” the companies said, adding they are in discussions with more than 100 seed brands. “With this broad licensing approach, robust ramp-up plans and extensive seed production, Enlist E3 soybeans are expected to be planted on more than 10 percent of U.S. and Canadian soybean acres in 2020,” they said.
