Yara International ASA and BASF will discontinue their joint effort to develop a low-carbon blue ammonia production plant on the U.S. Gulf Coast, according to a Yara news release.
The release says the decision to end the joint Gulf Coast project “reflects the companies’ commitment to focus on initiatives with the highest potential to achieve their respective value creation goals.” The release goes on to say that Yara will continue its “ammonia strategy” and will evaluate further opportunities in U.S. ammonia production.
