Agricultural co-ops claimed the top two spots in the National Cooperative Bank's annual ranking of the nation’s top 100 cooperatives by revenue across multiple sectors.

Cooperatives in the agriculture sector accounted for the largest share of revenue, with CHS Inc. reporting $39.3 billion and Dairy Farmers of America earning $23 billion.

In 2024, the listed cooperatives earned a combined $323 billion in revenue. Ranked co-ops span industries including agriculture, energy and communications, finance, grocery, hardware and lumber, healthcare and recreation. 

“These organizations demonstrate how cooperative principles continue to drive economic success while supporting communities nationwide,” said Casey Fannon, president and CEO of NCB.

NCB’s report is released annually in October during National Co-op Month. 

Non-ag co-ops on the list include Ace Hardware Corp., Basin Electric Power Cooperative, Navy Federal Credit Union and Recreational Equipment Inc.
