WASHINGTON, June 29, 2026 — Agri-Pulse is pleased to announce it has named Olivia Bridges congressional and trade editor, effective June 29.
Bridges is a Washington-based journalist who has covered agriculture and trade policy, including farm safety net programs, Proposition 12, pesticide regulation, hemp, federal appropriations and the impact of tariffs.
“Olivia brings sharp reporting instincts and a deep grasp of the policy debates shaping agriculture today,” said Sarah Gonzalez, editor in chief of Agri‑Pulse. “We’re excited to have her collaborative spirit on our team, and her work will bolster our coverage of Congress and international trade at a pivotal moment for the food and agriculture sectors.”
Before joining Agri-Pulse, Bridges worked as a freelance agriculture and health policy journalist. She began her journalism career at CQ and Roll Call, where she covered agriculture and trade policy.
Bridges grew up in Northern Virginia. She earned a master's degree in media and strategic communications from George Washington University and a bachelor's degree in journalism and creative writing from the University of Mary Washington.
Agri-Pulse also announced several staff title changes.
Kim Chipman has been named congressional and energy editor. In that role, she will continue to cover Congress while expanding reporting on energy policy.
Lydia Johnson is Newsmakers anchor and Washington reporter, reflecting her role leading Agri-Pulse's video programming and her contributions reporting on Congress, the White House and industry events.
Earlier this year, Steve Davies was promoted to managing editor. He oversees Agri-Pulse's newsroom operations and editorial planning.
