WASHINGTON, September 27, 2017 - Ann Bartuska, a senior official at USDA, is joining Resources for the Future (RFF) as vice president for the newly formed Land, Water and Nature Program. She will be working in tandem with RFF Senior Fellow Raymond Kopp, who previously was named vice president of the also-new Energy and Climate Program. At USDA, Bartuska has been serving as deputy undersecretary for research, education and economics as well as the department’s chief scientist. She starts the new job Oct. 1.

John W. (Bill) Pitesa, a veteran of the nuclear industry with 37 years of experience at Duke Energy Corp., is joining the Nuclear Energy Institute Dec. 1 as chief nuclear officer. Pitesa is currently Duke’s senior vice president and chief nuclear officer. In this position, he is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the largest regulated nuclear-generating fleet in the U.S. Pitesa joined Duke Energy in 1980 as an engineer and went on to serve as a senior reactor operator, station manager and vice president of nuclear support, responsible for all nuclear corporate functions.

Dan Gage has been named president of Natural Gas Vehicles for America. Gage comes to NGVAmerica from the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers where he served as senior director of communications and public affairs since 2011. Gage succeeds Matthew Godlewski, who recently joined Ford Motor Company.

The American Petroleum Institute selected former Ohio Public Utilities Commissioner Todd Snitchler as group director of API’s Market Development Department. Snitchler also previously served as chairman of Ohio’s Power Siting Board, and was twice elected to the state legislature. Before joining API, Snitchler worked at Vorys Advisors where he led government affairs efforts in the energy and utility space.
