President Donald Trump is extending a ceasefire with Iran that was set to end today. In a social media post Tuesday, he said Pakistan, which is supporting negotiations, asked the U.S. to hold off attacks and that the ceasefire will last indefinitely until Iranian officials submit a new proposal. The blockade on ships heading to Iranian ports will continue, however, he said.

If negotiators can’t find a path forward to extend the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement this year, there will be other opportunities to reach a deal. But U.S. agriculture sees dangers in drawn-out negotiations, with some arguing a swift extension is necessary to keep the pact at full strength.
