Tiffany Landry has started her own consulting agency called Landry Consulting focused on international development. She recently left USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service, where she was international policy adviser on climate change and multilateral affairs.
Natalie Dyenson has been selected as the new chief regulatory and food safety officer of the International Fresh Produce Association, effective July 17. With over three decades of food safety experience, Dyenson most recently worked at the Dole Food Co. as the vice president of food safety and quality.
Reece Cannady has been tapped as the new regional director for South Asia, based in New Delhi, India, for the U.S. Grains Council. Cannady most recently served as the assistant director for Europe and the Middle East, based in the council’s regional office in Tunis, Tunisia. Before that, Cannady was the manager of global trade for the council, spending time in both the Washington headquarters and Tunis regional office.
Kimberly Atkins has moved over to the American Feed Industry Association as manager of membership and engagement. She previously was the vice president of public affairs and policy at Laura Wood Peterson Consulting. Before that, she was the vice president and COO at the U.S. Grains Council.
American Farmland Trust has selected Sam Smidt as the national director of land use and protection research. Smidt was an assistant professor at the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. He was the director of Land and Water Lab, which helps students learn more about sustainable agricultural and natural resources management.
Jon Ebert has transitioned to lead product management and marketing for John Deere’s Precision Upgrades business. He previously worked for John Deere’s public and industry relations team.
Lainey Wolf has joined Field to Market as director of grant programs. She previously worked at the American Seed Trade Association as manager to international programs.
Aaron Putze now serves as the chief officer for strategy and brand management at the Iowa Soybean Association. He most recently was the senior director of information and education.
JBS USA has launched JBS Sanitation, a full-service food safety and food plant sanitation company that will provide in-house sanitation services, and has tapped Wilson Herrera to lead the new branch as president. Herrera is a 17-year industry veteran who most recently led corporate HR for JBS USA Pork. Alfred “Al” Almanza, global head of food safety and quality assurance for JBS Global, will also serve as the head of technical services for JBS Sanitation. The creation of JBS Sanitation comes in response to child-labor allegations in the food sanitation sector. As a result, JBS has terminated contracts with third-party sanitation provider PSSI at numerous facilities.
Jean-Christophe Flatin has been named the new CEO of Oatly Group AB, effective June 1. He will replace Toni Petersson, who has served as CEO since 2012 and who will transition to co-chairman of the board of directors. Flatin has been with Oatly since 2022 as global president.
Taylor Szilagyi is stepping in as the new executive vice president of Colorado Farm Bureau, succeeding Chad Vorthmann after serving the organization the last 10 years. Vorthmann is headed to Lockheed Martin Space in the government affairs division. Szilagyi has been with CFB the last six years and most recently was the vice president of strategy and operations. Before that, she was the communications director.
Barbara Leach now serves as an advisory board member for PlanetWatchers. She owns her own consulting firm, specializing in rural communications and agriculture policy. She previously worked at USDA as a senior adviser for policy and planning.
Bernadette Carrillo has left the Department of Commerce, where she was the director of intergovernmental affairs. She now works for Tusk Strategies as managing director. In her career, she has also held roles at the White House and the Economic Development Administration.
