Schleis will contribute across all facets of Agri-Pulse coverage, including the company’s weekly newsletter, daily online coverage and frequent multimedia updates. Schleis joins Agri-Pulse from the University of Missouri, where she recently completed her master’s in journalism. She studied investigative reporting and public policy.
“Jana Rose has already demonstrated her passion for reporting and understanding of agriculture, making her the perfect candidate to join our team this summer,” said Agri-Pulse Founder and President Sara Wyant. “Working with interns is one of my favorite parts of the business, and I’m excited to watch Jana Rose grow with us throughout her experience.”
A native of Two Creeks, Wisconsin, Schleis graduated from the University of Wisconsin — Stevens Point with a bachelor’s in communications in 2015. She then joined the team at Wisconsin Public Radio, where she held various roles until beginning her master’s program in 2021. She grew up on her family’s dairy farm near the shores of Lake Michigan and developed an appreciation for the connection between journalism and agriculture while exchanging articles with her family about the latest developments in the industry.
