An advisory board to guide CDFA on the Fertilizing Materials Inspection Program has an opening that the department hopes to fill sometime next year.

In a release, CDFA noted the Fertilizer Inspection Advisory Board has a vacancy for a board member that will serve an uncompensated three-year term for an individual that holds “a current fertilizing materials license or be a representative of a licensed firm.”

The department notes FMIP personnel are located throughout California and “conduct routine sampling and inspections, respond to consumer complaints, and enforce laws and regulations that govern the manufacturing and distribution of fertilizing materials.” The program is funded by “fertilizing materials license and product registration fees and mill assessments,” CDFA added.

Applications are due to CDFA by Jan. 12, 2024.
