Used cooking oil heist highlights $500 million headache, group says

A federal grand jury has indicted several Chinese nationals on charges related to stealing and re-selling used cooking oil across several U.S. states. The alleged theft underscores the need for stronger measures to protect waste feedstocks that have become increasingly valuable in the making of biodiesel and other lower-emitting fuels, the North American Renderers Association said.
