Farm Hands on the Potomac: Fox joins Monument Advocacy, O’Brien announces retirement from DMI, Larew reelected NFU president

Alexa Fox joined Monument Advocacy as vice president on the food and agriculture team. Audra Weeks, who was deputy chief of staff for policy at the Agriculture Department, departed USDA. Barbara O’Brien, president and CEO of Dairy Management Inc., announced that she will retire this fall. Caroline Rydell is leaving the Farm Credit Bank of Texas to begin a role with Texas A&M AgriLife Office of Federal Relations.

Daybreak March 10: House farm bill could face Democrat revolt

The House Ag Committee’s new farm bill heads to the floor with some significant Democratic support behind it. Seven committee Democrats voted for the measure. But the top Democrat on the Senate Agriculture Committee, Amy Klobuchar, says the legislation won’t attract Democratic votes in that chamber unless it addresses some SNAP cuts that Republicans forced through Congress last year.
