Shining Light on Farm & Food Policy for 20 Years.

Three federal agencies -- USDA, EPA and FDA -- have signed a formal agreement aimed at making Americans more aware of the importance of reducing food waste.
The heads of the USDA, FDA and EPA say they will be working in tandem to cut down on crops left unharvested and reduce the food that goes uneaten and into landfills every year.
A study by an Agricultural Research Service team and university scientists found that U.S. consumers waste a pound of food per person a day, or about a third of the daily calories that each American consumes.
Consider this modern paradox: At a time when 20 million people around the world face starvation, roughly one-third of all food grown for human consumption is lost or wasted.
